(CNN) — After a Monday landslide that authorities say killed at least three people near a remote community in southeast Alaska, a group rescued about 20 people from the affected area, a resident involved in the effort said.Search efforts for three people who remain missing have finished for the evening, and a search strategy will be announced Thursday, the Alaska Department of Public Safety said in a Wednesday news release.The landslide was reported around 9 p.m. local time Monday on the Zimovia Highway near Wrangell and walloped three homes in its path, the Alaska Department of Public Safety said. (CNN) — Investigators think a deadly crash Wednesday morning at the Rainbow Bridge, which links the US and Canada, involved a man who was traveling with his wife in a Bentley at a high rate of speed, law enforcement sources told CNN.The speeding vehicle hit a curb, then a guardrail that sent the vehicle airborne and into a secondary screening area, the sources said.The man, who lived in New York State, had plans to attend a KISS concert in Canada but when it was canceled, went to a casino in the US instead, investigators believe. The crash occurred after the couple left the casino, the sources told CNN.The vehicle had entering the bridge area on the US side, law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation said. 4 killed in Thanksgiving morning crash on SR-94

SAN DIEGO -- Four people were killed in a crash on State Route 94 in Mount Hope Thursday morning, California Highway Patrol confirmed.First responders, including San Diego Police, San Diego Fire-Rescue and CHP, were dispatched to the scene around 2:30 a.m.The incident occurred eastbound near Home Avenue, prompting authorities to close the freeway and divert traffic to the Interstate 15 south. The section of the 94 freeway where the accident happened dips down underneath an overpass. A mangled up black car and debris could be seen in the area.No further information about the cause of the collision or vehicle involved is available at this time. Witnesses describe ‘terrifying’ scene following deadly Rainbow Bridge car explosion

As local law enforcement continues to investigate the cause of a fiery fatal crash at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, some Canadian witnesses who were at the customs checkpoint on Wednesday morning are describing the “terrifying” scene.The FBI has ruled out terrorism and says there was no evidence of explosive materials in the crash debris after a Bentley sedan reportedly sped out of control and exploded on the American side of the bridge.Toronto resident Paola Tamang was at the U.S. customs office when the blast happened and says she felt the entire building shake.“It felt like an earthquake,” she says.The driver and passenger inside the vehicle in the crash were both killed. About 260 officers took part in the raids and searches at eight properties in Lower Saxony and another six in Berlin. The suspects are accused of smuggling more than 200 migrants, most of them Syrians, into the European Union, German news agency dpa reported.One of the suspects, a 23-year-old man from Berlin, was arrested in Garbsen near Hannover.
