CSU Rams will start Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi vs. CU Buffs in Rocky Mountain Showdown

FORT COLLINS — In his biggest game as CSU Rams coach, Jay Norvell just made his biggest call.Norvell announced Monday morning that Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi will start for the Rams at quarterback at against No. 18 CU in the Rocky Mountain Showdown at Folsom Field.“I just felt like the timing was right for Brayden to get that opportunity,” said Norvell, who brought Fowler-Nicolosti in to replace Clay Millen in a 50-24 season-opening loss to Washington State two weeks ago. “I’m not blaming Clay, by any means.”Fowler-Nicolosi started CSU’s win at Nevada last year while Millen was recovering from an injury. Wyatts Towing committed no violations when it towed Colorado state senator’s car, PUC finds

Colorado’s Public Utilities Commission found Wyatts Towing committed no violations when it towed the car of a state senator last month.The PUC, which regulates Colorado’s towing industry, told Wyatts in an email Friday that it had closed Sen. Julie Gonzales‘ case.Gonzales, a Denver Democrat, garnered widespread attention last month when she outlined her frustrating experience with Colorado’s largest towing operator. The legislator, who helped write Colorado’s “Towing Bill of Rights” law last year, said she parked for a few hours in a north Denver parking lot connected to a mixed-use development. Hit-and-run driver possibly tied to 3 Huntington Beach bike crashes, including fatal incident

Three bicyclists were struck by a vehicle in Huntington Beach Sunday night, including one who died. Now, authorities believe the same suspect might be responsible for all three incidents and that the crashes may have been intentional.The first incident was reported around 10:30 p.m. in the area of Brad Avenue and Edwards Street, Huntington Beach police said.The victim told responding officers that he was riding his bicycle on Edwards Street when a vehicle “intentionally sideswiped” him before driving off, police said. The victim suffered minor injuries, was treated at the scene and was eventually released.Around 15 minutes later, authorities received reports of a downed bicyclist near Heil Avenue and Springdale Street. Officers found the bicyclist lying in the street with major injuries. The victim died at the scene, “despite the efforts of the paramedics,” police said.Police then got wind of another incident that had occurred earlier. Gavin Newsom is expected to sign into law a bill barring public school districts from banning books and curriculum related to gender and racial diversity.Assembly Bill 1078 passed in the state Senate last week, largely along party lines, and now heads to Newsom's desk.The bill had passed overwhelmingly in the Assembly in May - at around the same time the issue came to a head with the Temecula Valley Unified School District’s vote to reject elementary school curriculum that mentioned Harvey Milk, California’s first openly gay elected official."My question is, why even mention a pedophile?" San Jose: Three arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after police pursuit

SAN JOSE — A shooting followed by a wild car chase that took responding officers from San Jose to East Palo Alto on early Wednesday morning resulted in three arrests on suspicion of charges that included attempted murder, according to police.Police responded to a reported shooting about 1:12 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 100 block of West Alma Avenue, just south of downtown San Jose. Upon arrival, officers found two men suffering from at least one gunshot wound each. They were transported to a hospital, where they were expected to recover from their injuries, police said.According to authorities, officers saw a suspect vehicle fleeing the scene, which police attempted to stop. After the vehicle refused to pull over, police engaged in a pursuit with the vehicle — a dark-colored sedan.During the pursuit, police saw two guns thrown out of the vehicle.
