Police investigate Jefferson drowning incident

JEFFERSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police are investigating a drowning incident on Saturday at a public lake near TheZone Boys Camp. Police say three people had overturned in the water, and say Juan Parco Saez, 36, of Ecuador, was found dead the following day. On Saturday, around 2:37 p.m., troopers responded to Jefferson for reports of a small boat occupied by three people that was overturned. Multiple local fire departments arrived as well. Two people were rescued and taken to Albany Medical Center. They are in stable condition. The third person, later identified as Parco Saez, was not found after the Under Water Recovery Team (URT) attempted to find him, due to darkness and water conditions. WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - This week, the Warren County Sheriff's Department is taking part in a state effort to keep roads safe and combat distracted driving. Schenectady Police investigating shots fired

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Schenectady Police are currently investigating a shots fired incident that took place around 5:09 a.m. on Sunday. Police say it appears no one was shot. They responded to Schenectady and Albany Streets where they found 14 shell casings. Through further investigation, police say they found a car that appeared to be hit by a bullet, as well as a house. Evidence technicians from the Schenectady Police Department processed the scene. No one at this time is in custody.

ADAMS, Mass. (NEWS10) -- Miss Adams Diner, located at 53 Park Street in Adams, is reportedly closed until further notice. The announcement was made on the Miss Adams Diner Facebook page on March 31. "I'm not going to lie and make up stories but we have been struggling."The diner is owned by Pete Oleskiewicz. Worcester Lunch Car No. 821, where the diner now sits, was delivered to Adams in 1949. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Association of Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling (NYSAR3) has announced the New York Recycles! poster contest to promote higher excellence in waste reduction. Students from kindergarten through 12th grade in New York State public and private schools, youth organizations, and home-schooled students are welcome to participate. LOUIS -- Many municipalities in the St. Louis area will be testing their tornado sirens today at 11 a.m. This is part of the regular tests that happen at 11 a.m. on the first Monday of the month.The tests will be happening in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County today. Jefferson County does not have a county-wide tornado siren system, but some cities do conduct monthly tests. Another home explodes in Mammoth Lakes

A house in Mammoth Lakes was destroyed by an explosion Saturday — 10 days after a similar blast a mile away injured five people.The weekend’s blast happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Juniper Road, a loop of single-family homes near Mammoth Mountain ski resort’s Eagle Express lift. The house was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported, the Mammoth Lakes Police Department said.The resulting fire and the snowmelt flooding caused by that fire prompted the evacuation of nearby residences, including condos at the Eagle Run complex.On March 22, an explosion caused the collapse of a building at the Val d’Isere Condominiums, near the Mammoth Village commercial area.
